hallo...

Recording Online Usage

iT3 records online usage of desired connections and users into it's own .iT3 log file type.

Logged usage information includes start time, duration, end time, cost, user name and connection.

Totals for each user and connection are maintained, on daily, weekly, monthly, bimonthly, quarterly and yearly periods.

Authentication of online usage is carried out by iT3 either forcefully before connection, or during the dial-up process.

Authentication is not required when user profiles are taken from the logged on user name, or when a single user exists.

iT3 supports network data transfer, including a transaction iT3 log file as well as TCP/IP and email transmission of data.

Session data is recorded at the end of session, and if log viewer is open at the time then it is send to it via DDE instantly.

iT3 provides single click disconnection options through the system tray menu for convenience and synchronicity. top

Displaying Usage Data

The iT3 Timer Bar displays online usage data, updated with every second of the current connection.

The Timer Bar is fully dockable, floatable, minimisable, and hideable. It's position and setting is remembered for each user.

Usage information for users and connections, including totals and limits (maximums or countdowns) for all periods is easily accessible from a window linked from the iT3 timer bar menu.

Available timer bar information that can be displayed includes the current session time and cost, user name, connection name, current connection rate, user total time and cost, connection total time and cost, and the grand total of time and cost for all users and connections.

The iT3 timer bar can have it's background (graphic or plain colour), text colours and the data it shows fully customised.

The timer bar supports a periodic showing system, if you only require an occasional reminder of your session data.

Changes in connection rate are displayed to the user through iT3's notice messaging system.

On disconnection a summary window can be shown with information about the session's usage data, along with the latest user and connection totals, limits and time remaining. Optional or forced print outs (including invoice number) of the summary can be selected from iT3 main configuration.

Displayed totals can be chosen from the various periodic types, with monthly, bimonthly and quarterly having a customisable offset value for the starting day of the month, to keep in sync with your billing scheme.

iT3 can automatically add VAT throughout displayed totals and summaries for you, with one single option.

Your system's decimal place formatting for currency can be overridden for iT3 manually if you require higher accuracy. top

User and Connection Profiles

iT3 supports an unlimited amount of users and connections, with unlimited descriptive lengths.

User profiles can be added, edited, and removed through a simple user interface.

Users can be assigned passwords to enhance authentication, and also given administrative privileges.

User profiles can be dynamically created based on the currently logged on user profile, removing the need for authentication during the connection process.

iT3 displays for your convenience the number of user profiles set up as well as the name of the currently logged on user.

iT3 supports dial-up networking, local IP and TCP/IP table analysis connection detection methods, ideal for modem connections, AOL and CompuServe and LAN client connections.

Dial-up connections are tracked by their phone numbers, and LAN proxy addresses are automatically resolved into IPs.

If a local proxy has been set up with your browser software then iT3 will automatically detect and set a proxy connection.

All dial-up connections are automatically detected by iT3 on first installation, and again if the user selects the redetect connections option. AOL and CompuServe installations are also tracked and added appropriately. Phone numbers are automatically loaded from Windows dial-up networking for use in automatic verification of connection identity.

A maximum of one IP based and one TCP/IP based connection listing are allowed, in order to prevent conflicts.

Administrative users have access to main configuration, to close iT3 down during Windows session (not required when shutting down), to override restrictions, and to override the authentication process if / when required. top

Call Scheme Support

iT3 supports configuration to cover virtually all telecom call scheme types, the most comprehensive available.

Individual connection charges, minimum charges, maximum charges for each period type can be set for each connection.

iT3 supports a primary call scheme and a secondary call scheme, for charging that changes mid-call.

Secondary call scheme activation can be set by connection time and/or cost, whichever comes first.

iT3 supports customisation for the start and end days and times of the weekend period for European compatibility

Individual start and end times for the peak, off-peak and weekend periods can be set to the second, for each connection.

Connection rates can be set for any time base varying from 1 to 9,999 seconds, with a percentage discount option, and automatic display of the final connection rate per unit time inclusive of VAT.

Periodic billing charges can be set for each connection, for any specific period (daily, weekly, monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, or yearly) with options for peak, off-peak (optionally including weekend time), weekend, and total connection usage. A set amount of hours can have assigned to it either a fixed price (free or subscription) or a separate connection rate applied instead of the standard rate.

Support for periodic subscription fees and periodic minimum billing costs is included, with an option to include this information within the timer bar grand totals.

Call schemes can be reset to defaults, or set by copying data from another call scheme all with a single click.

A hyperlink is provided to a 3rd party site hosting the call scheme information for virtually all UK telecom providers.

Additional extra rates can be set for any time period and for any or all connections, across midnight if required, for call scheme that have periods of different rates or discounts for certain times of the week.

Connection rate is determined by billing scheme, extra rate then primary/secondary call scheme in that order. top

Restrictions

Restrictions on applications or Internet connections, for specified users, connections or combinations, for specified time periods and days of the week.

Application restrictions can be specified either by application executable path, or by a wildcard acceptable titlebar extract.

A popup titlebar selection window helps to retrieve titlebars from hidden windows, and saves typing.

Restrictions can be set to apply to non-administrative users or any specific users, restrictions cannot be set for administrative users themselves.

Application Matching feature intelligently detects applications matching the signature of restricted applications, and applies the appropriate restriction while updating the recorded signature profile. Thus changing location, renaming a file, and even changing it's properties and contents still causes iT3 to recognise it as a restricted application.

Optional audio notification of restriction enforcement, with customisable sound effect.

Whole or individual restriction enabled states, effective immediately.

On restriction activation the desktop is locked out with the iT3 desktop lock feature and the restriction window displayed to allow users with authorisation to bypass the restriction, or for the lockout to be canceled.

A 10 second time penalty discourages users from attempting to access restricted applications, also ensuring that applications have the chance to fully load before they are terminated when authorisation is not provided.

Administrative users can override the restriction system.

Connection restrictions do not black out the desktop, however are processed immediately with restriction override enabling automatic redialling of disconnected connection.

Restriction override lasts until 30 seconds of no restricted applications detected as running, or until the restriction overridden connection is disconnected.

Restrictions can be re-enabled after being overridden by a one click iT3 system tray option.

Restrictions desktop lock prevents ctrl-alt-del, ctrl-escape, alt-tab in Win9x/Me and is as secure as possible under NT. top

Hallo !
